Biosafety Information Online (BIO)
Biosafety Information Online (BIO) is a program outlining biological materials work that must be conducted by a Principal Investigator while simultaneously outlining regulatory conditions. BIO ensures compliance with the Institutional Biosafety Committee while limiting liability by clearly outlining containment requirements.
Chemical Inventory System (CIS) is a robust, UC-wide chemical tracking system. CIS establishes inventory tracking standards for the UC system while saving money by cutting auditing timeframes for inventory managers.
The Laboratory Hazard Assessment Tool (LHAT) is a UC-wide assessment tool that helps Principal Investigators (PI) identify activities and hazards to ensure that lab personnel are properly protected in their work environment. LHAT provides an on-line solution for PI's and Lab Personnel that facilitates the review of lab risks, as well as the on-going distribution of personal protective equipment.
Risk Assessment Determinations in Chemical Academic Laboratories (RADiCAL) is a recipient of the 2013 Larry L. Sautter Silver Award for Innovation in Information Technology. RADiCAL is a risk management tool that quickly determines a control-banded Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to provide chemical lab personnel with pertinent information to safely perform their research.
The Safety Inspection Tool (SIT) is a collaborative effort between EH&S and Information Technology units at UC campuses and EH&S at the UC Office of the President. SIT is an intuitive, onsite audit application for Inspectors that reduces the amount of time any given danger will exist in a workspace. The system is being developed to automate safety processes within each campus.
